It's Friday afternoon, I've escaped from a long meeting and am starting to contemplate my weekend.
Spring is in the air. I can feel it, even though soon-to-be March lions will certainly get their roaring
days, here in cold wintry Michigan.
Almost all of the ice has melted from the Hyland house driveway. (That was a scary thing, believe me. It was a broken-leg disaster, waiting to happen.) Last night, when I got home, there were multitudes of birds chirping, singing and flitting about; I think they're more excited about spring than I am(!)
I'm also so pleased to see Ol' Madame Sun gracing us with her lengthening presence. The air is warming, day by day. Tomorrow, the thermometer may hit anywhere from 50 to 60 degrees! I even sat out on our front porch stoop for a few minutes last night. The air was still and consequently, the temperature felt almost pleasant. Viewing our little neighborhood from my 'stoop' vantage point, I felt like I had met up with an old friend who had just returned from a long, winter absence.
S. and I will rendezvous this evening. I'm looking forward to that.
Tomorrow morning, I take Cisco for her semi-annual visit with the vet, Dr. K. I would rather stay home, lounge in my pajamas and robe, and play the piano. Ah, well.
And, tomorrow evening, we are supposed to have dinner at J & J's house. J.C's mom, bless her heart, always sends J.C. home with this big Polish ham. She is sharing the wealth with her friends. The theme of the gathering (or one of the themes) is death. Perhaps I'll have more to write about that later.
